- 1x8-inch pine board (12 inches long)
- 1x6-inch pine board (12 inches long)
- 1x4-inch pine board (12 inches long)
- 1x2-inch pine board (12 inches long)
- 1x1-inch pine board (12 inches long)
- 2x 1-inch wood dowels (12 inches long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (6 inches long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (3 inches long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (1 inch long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (1/2 inch long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (1/4 inch long)
- 1x 1-inch wood dowel (1/8 inch long)
- 1x 6-inch piece of chain
- 1x 4-inch piece of chain
- 1x 2-inch piece of chain
- 1x E26 light socket
- 1x Light bulb
- 1x Wire nuts
- 1x Electrical tape
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Stain or paint (optional)

Instructions

Cut the wood.
Use a saw to cut the following pieces of wood:
* 1x8-inch pine board: 2 pieces, each 6 inches long
* 1x6-inch pine board: 2 pieces, each 6 inches long
* 1x4-inch pine board: 2 pieces, each 6 inches long
* 1x2-inch pine board: 4 pieces, each 6 inches long
* 1x1-inch pine board: 8 pieces, each 6 inches long

Sand the wood.
Use a sander to smooth the edges of all of the wood pieces.

Assemble the frame.
Use wood glue to assemble the frame. The frame should consist of two 1x8-inch pieces, two 1x6-inch pieces, and two 1x4-inch pieces. The 1x8-inch pieces should be placed at the top and bottom of the frame, the 1x6-inch pieces should be placed in the middle, and the 1x4-inch pieces should be placed at the corners.

Add the dowels.
Use wood glue to attach the dowels to the frame. The dowels should be placed in the following locations:
- 1x 1-inch dowel (12 inches long) in the center of the frame
- 2x 1-inch dowels (6 inches long) at the top and bottom of the frame
- 2x 1-inch dowels (3 inches long) at the sides of the frame
- 1x 1-inch dowel (1 inch long) in each corner of the frame
- 1x 1-inch dowel (1/2 inch long) in the center of each side of the frame
- 1x 1-inch dowel (1/4 inch long) in the center of each corner of the frame
- 1x 1-inch dowel (1/8 inch long) in the center of each dowel

Stain or paint the frame.
If desired, you can stain or paint the frame to match your décor.

Attach the light socket.
